The Largest Cave in the World!
December Lite #1 ~ May your holidays be bright and light-hearted
I have to admit that I was startled and a bit abashed when I first read the line: Vietnam isn’t a war, it’s a country. I hadn’t realized that I had pigeonholed the location and culture in just that way—a place where we fought battles and lost people.
Vietnam has a fascinating natural history and many geographical wonders, including the world’s largest cave.
When I first heard of the existence of this place, my heart swelled: There’s so much I don’t know and so much more to discover!

Thank you for this reminder, Kat. Viet Nam was, and is, a country. So is Congo. So is Somalia. So is Ukraine. So is every war-ravaged place on this earth. They are countries with beautiful and interesting places and people. There is so much more to them behind the headlines.
