Welcome to my stories

I was one of the few American dependents living in Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War, one of seven children of a CIA operative who worked in ultra-secret propaganda. At the very end of the war, he successfully orchestrated the evacuation of 1,000 South Vietnamese—a truly extraordinary story.

I grappled with this unusual childhood for much of my life and finally dedicated myself to putting the circumstances of that time into words.

You can read about it in my 2023 narrative nonfiction book, For the Love of Vietnam: a war, a family, a CIA official and the best evacuation story never heard.

As one of the few American dependents in Saigon before the fall, I cannot help but explore the subject of Vietnam in my "Stories of Vietnam." In "Let's Practice Together" I support writing, reading, and getting outdoors for a breath of fresh air.
